This show was born from the desire to create a book of Aesop's Fables featuring the art of EBSQ artists. We knew that many would be interested in participating - far more than could be included. This show is an opportunity for artist's interested in participating in the project to submit themselves for inclusion.
**Please read the prospectus carefully**
We would hate for anyone to be ineligible because of a misunderstanding. We will answer any questions you may have.
For this show, artists should submit only one work.
It should be an illustration for "The Lion and the Mouse." "The Hen and the Golden Eggs," or "The Hawk and the Nightingale." These fables are just for this show and will not be included in the book. It is your choice which part of the story to illustrate.
Please include a caption with your illustration. Remember, you are creating an illustration for a story, not telling the entire story. Please select just one part of the fable to focus on.
The pieces will be judged in the same manner as previous shows. EBSQ members and patrons will be able to log on and vote for which work best meets the objective of the prospectus. As there will be ten (10) fables in our volume, the ten artists with the most votes will be the ones chosen to work on the book.
The artists who are chosen will be assigned a fable. They will be expected to provide three (3) illustrations for the fable. Preliminary work is to be completed by May 15, 2004. The final deadline for completion is June 30, 2004. If you do not feel that you can commit to this, please do not enter the show.
There will be no Mister Art gift certificate awarded for this show. It will be awarded in the other March show - Alphabet: Typography Incorporated into Art.
