Prospectus

This September 11th, we mark the 5th anniversary of four planes hijacked to be used as flying bombs. Three found their mark. One, thanks to the passengers on board, was flown into the ground in a Pennsylvania field, never making it to it's target. This month EBSQ is giving its members a chance to remember these events by honoring and remembering all of those affected directly by these events, as well as the emotional wounds suffered by everyone here and abroad that were caused by this tragedy.

This show's focus in on remember and perhaps healing as well. We ask that participants share work that reflects this. Artists should refrain from commenting on the administration, the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, other cultures, religions and races. The tone for this show should not be one of vitriol and hate, but one that, even with grief and pain, uplifts. We feel that this is the best way to honor all those who have suffered. EBSQ is aware that some can not separate their political views and opinions from their feelings about the events of 9/11 and that in order to create an honest piece, these things must be included. We respect that, however, this show is about something different. As we respect your inability to honestly present work without these opinions, we ask that you respect this show and refrain from entering such work.

Entries can be created for this show or can be work created during the first months following 9/11. All entries must be accompanied by a statement that details how your piece relates to 9/11 and why you chose to represent your feelings as you did. This is particularly important if you piece is abstract or has no obvious reference to 9/11. This show is open to all media. Information detailing the materials and process you used should also be included. This increases understanding of your work and significantly enhances the experience for the viewer. As texture or other small elements may be pivotal to the piece, detail shots are encouraged. Eligible entries need to meet all points of the prospectus. If you have any questions regarding the prospectus and its requirements, please send them to edu@ebsqart.com.If you have any questions, please ask.

Due to the sensitive nature of this show, there will be no voting or prizes awarded at the conclusion of the exhibit
