I have been captivated by this vision lately and feel the urge to express it through painting. Though I have painted this vision now in different forms, this particular painting was done exclusively for the "Seven Deadly Sins" show. This piece reflects the reality of finding and addressing the demons in our lives. The Madonna is an icon that represents the feminine in it's purest form. No matter how "clean" one's life appears to the outside world - people struggle with their own problems and "demons". Though we emanate goodness and kindness and try to positively affect those around us, we harbor troubles of our own. In this piece the Madonna seems to be enticing her demon. Though she is pure in form - her natural inclinations and desires become apparent through her "demon". She does face toward her demon and incenses the lust rising from within. The flames surrounding the Madonna and the Demon's head are metallic gold - expressing the radiating forces that their choices make - in the world.
