Art: Envy by Artist Kelli Ann Dubay
She is green with envy... and you see it in her face... This piece is created with graphite pencil and oil...it is a self portrait... especially on this piece there is a lot of the raw canvas showing through... I love the feel of this piece... There are many layers of paint in this piece to create some beautiful colors and depth. Much has been glazed - thin layer upon thin layer. Sometimes you will find areas in the painting are actual raw canvas showing through. I hand rub the first layer of oil paint on, so you will always find oil paint on the back of the painting. This piece is painted around the sides, so there is no need to frame if you do not want to. My work is full of movement - and I do not worry about paintings being complete - what I mean by this, is that, if I feel the painting is saying what I want it to, I stop...my goal is to give emotion, not worry about having a nice tidy, clean finished piece. My paintings are very emotional and will compliment any environment. My work is intended to stop and grab the viewer - not to just sit and look pretty on the wall. If you have any questions or are in need of any additional jpegs, please email before you bid. All sales are final. Peace.
