This piece was done for a friend who is also the owner of the image. It was created using Spectrum Corsica Inferno yellow/red/orange opalescent glass, Kokomo light amber seedy cathedral glass, and Wissmach red/orange cathedral glass and orange/yellow opalescent glass. It was done using the copper foil method. The panel is encased in a brass channel for strength. All metals were finished with a copper patina.
The background glass (Kokomo light amber seedy) gives the effect of the sun floating in the sky. It fairly glows with warmth, and the polished and patinaed solder shimmers.
