The title comes from a 16th century Christmas carol first published by Michael Praetorius that is still performed today. I have tried to illustrate the cycle of birth and death and the idea that all life is precious, by altering the image so that it gathers and forms from the lower right only to unravel at the upper left. The image was modified using an optical distortion tool that can fold or unfold an image.
