WHAT COULD BE MORE PRECIOUS THAN A TINY DOG WITH A SMOOSHED-IN NOSE, BIG EYES AND A ATTITUDE!
This portrait was done for D. Lapins of his wife's beloved Japanese Chin dog, "Gizmo" as a gift. The sculpture was done using epoxy resin and polymer clay over a metal armature. The eyes are glass. There is no paint on this piece. The colors are individually hand mixed by the artist using base colors of clay, and applied in layers until the piece is finished. The compounds in this beautiful original work are durable and will last for many, many years to come. Many thanks to the Lapins family for allowing me the honor of preserving the likeness of their cherished family member!
