This darling cat belongs to my best friend and her name is Penny.  This 18x24 oil painting is based on a picture I had taken of her one day while pet-sitting her.  The bird and feeder were not originally present in the picture.  I wanted to add something to that space in the painting and finally settled on the bird.  Penny loved jumping up on the window sills and sitting in front of the window, chattering away at the birds outside.  I thought that adding that to the painting would be a fun way bringing more of her personality to the painting.  “Pennyâ€� was given as a donation to the 2010 Anchorage Mayors Charity Ball.
