In Dunedin, New Zealand, I lived up high on Queens St. and it overlooked the beautiful city. One view was of the botanical gardens, and there was a huge mass of trees that attracted my attention. They seemed enchanted from where I sat - tall and towering over everything. They were far away, but so large and grand. I imagined what it might be like inside. And what I found was a land of magic.
My tunnels of trees seem to be a bit of a trademark, with a mysterious light at the end that we never reach. The path is visible and alluring, but the fate that is hidden by the light, is not.
This piece is in a private collection in Dunedin, New Zealand. Thanks Dave Randle.
