Nothing brings out the green like the thought o' Ireland. This image was meant to be a "sister piece" to my work entitled "France 1212". This work is made with Letraset marker and Prismacolor pencil. It represents one on the Tuatha de Danann, or the fairy folk of Ireland.

. It employs a practice sometimes called "color pencil painting" where the artist lays down many different colors in the same area in layers to create the depth and luminosity of paint. Sometimes, and in this case, the layers are mixed with a liquid solvent. I myself, often use markers of similar tone, adjacent value, and/ or or complementary color (depending on the effect desired) as a base layer.
