Art: SALVATION by Artist Methec
I hand hold my canvas very close to my body. I am near sighted and this helps me see the paint. I use oils 99.9% of the time and for some reason I enjoy blues and browns together. The idea for Salvation was first sketched and the surroundings were a natural responce to the image.

Art is not always a pretty picture!

I don’t know exactly what category to place some of my work. I’m mostly known for my abstracts however, I have always had a personal interest in surreal, fantasy, lowbrow, visionary and outsider.

I love color and I desire to create paintings which make a person stop, stare and think. I find I lean towards disturbing fantasy ideas. Not just gore, blood or spooky stuff…I want my work to mesmerize and surprise the viewer. What I lack in artistic training and skills, I make up for in other ways.

SALVATION tells many stories. For me it represents:

The decay of body, soul, flesh, youth, religion, and spirit.

The decay of earth, time, and innocence.

The decay of beauty and the bondage of our physical being.

Thank you for looking.

Methec – Carolyn Jones
