My Blue Heaven

This piece is part of my "Shadowy figures & Abstract apparitions" series. With this series, I depict various scenarios of abstracted human (or human-like) figures from afar; usually in silhouette form. I show the viewer a glimpse of their lives through these little vignettes.

My Blue Heaven --this is what I picture it as. I recently saw a "made for tv" movie called "The 5 people you meet in Heaven". Well, I added a couple more to the list and you see them here as they watch over their human charges.

I created this piece using varying shades of ultramarine blue. It's a color that I feel is especially peaceful and serene. Very calming to gaze upon, yet striking in it's own right.

I read somewhere that: "a balance of the color blue brings intuition, inspiration, sincerity, peace, joy, tranquility, faith in oneself and trust in others."

Well, if this painting expresses ANY of those qualities to you, I feel I've been a success!

NOTE: This piece was recently exhibited in an art gallery, here in NYC.

It is varnished for protection and enhancement of color, and I have signed it on the lower right hand side.
