
This mandala started as a doodle of two circles and then lines outlining in rows around them. I colored the upper circle with fire colors, which looked like a sun when I finished it. So then I thought the other circle should represent the moon. From there I played with colors and about half way through saw that it was turning into a landscape image. I named it Oregon because the 'moon' was in the lake and it reminded me of Crater Lake, which is in southern Oregon.
I used prismacolor brand pencils and colored this on the back of a round matte cut-out (if you look closely on the left side, you'll see the beveled edge).
