This piece is about things that were scary when you were a kid but you kept going back to them. A Jack In The Box was frightening yet I couldn't put it aside. Clowns were ugly, scary non-human things with fake smiles painted on their faces. Fortune Tellers were second only to the idea of witches yet people (adults) paid to go talk to them.
