Art: As Close As I Get to Love by Artist Vicky Helms

I named this piece "As Close As I Get to Love" because it represents this: the large carnation on the left was my mom's favorite (she died 40+ years ago when I was 19). She was the love of my life (other than my daughter of course). The black rose represents me as I have 2 failed marriages and can't seem to find the right "love recipe". Too selfish with my time I think. The watch is the time that has passed. Inside the watch is a French coin (representing love in the corny sense) and a "diamond" in the center of the coin for that diamond in the rough that maybe I search for. The oblong nails bind both flowers to the journey.
