This abstract/surrealistic acrylic painting on canvas depicts the warmth of spring and the perfect setting for the mating ritual which takes place at that time every year. Represented in kind of "exta-terrestrial" form are the male and female counterparts in this traditional meeting of the sexes. I began this painting as a diptych (so it therefore has a mate), but later decided that it stood as a complete statement on its own. In a way, it is a slight departure for me from things I do, but the form came to me as I was noodling around with a pencil at the kitchen table and I knew that it would find a home someday in one of my paintings.
