I have always been drawn to the work of Vincent Van Gogh, even as a child. There is a special passion in his work that I have not seen anywhere else. I have read about his life, and I feel a great compassion for him. As a tribute, I selected perhaps his most famous work, Starry NIght. I used Vincent's basic composition, and for the most part his color scheme, and sifted it through my own being. It was a very moving experience. Perhaps I felt a bit of his passion. It is a comfort knowing that when night fell in Vincent's time, and he looked up at the stars, they are the very same ones that I see now. In this way, I can be connected to him.
