This was the first painting I did after my husband got out of the hospital--he was able to go along with me, and we headed for the deep woods of the Boy Scout camp at Watkins Mill State Park. It was a wonderful day, and though ordinarily I would not have thought there was much to paint there, because he was unable to walk far, we plunked down at an old picnic table, ate our lunch, and I painted what was right in front of us while he napped. I just added layers and layers to push the deep shadowed woods back, and was quite happy with the way this little painting captured a very special day.
