"Il Cascinale" is part of my "Italy On My Mind" series.
"Il Cascinale" is Italian for farmstead. The one depicted in this painting is located on a Tuscan hill South of Pisa.
I spent several summer vacations traveling all over the Tuscany countryside and the coast. I just wanted to capture the feeling of peace and serenity felt there....can you hear the cicadas' serenade?
This piece is filled with bright summer light. It has a clean, open composition. The painting continues around the sides.
