This original oil painting depicts the farmland around Nipomo in San Luis Obispo County, in springtime. A similar painting done at the same time was featured in American Artist and The Artist Magazine in an ad about plein air painting by Blick. This plein air painting emphasizes warm light and the peace of morning.
