- Three Octopuses
Rising slowly over the ocean beach, 'three octopuses' dance on the soft summer breeze.
Artist comment: Every year at the kite festival in Lincoln City, Oregon, new and innovative kites appear. These wonderful octopus kites were a fabulous hit! I photographed them from several vantage points and chose to portray them with oil on canvas from behind, with the ocean as a backdrop. The composition is a triangle shape, one of my favorites. With a cool sky and sea, warm sand, and two little boys enjoying the beach, this painting is altogether bright and cheerful.
