Art: Indian Summer 1 by Artist Shelly Bedsaul
I used this as a demonstration at the Aaron Douglas Art Fair in Topeka, KS. The demo was for kids, but many parents joined in the fun, too. A simple technique with NO brushes. The blending was achieved using sponges. Details were made using a triangular sponge, a Playdo lid, a small mat scrap and a bamboo skewer, the flat end for the big dots and the pointy end for the small dots and squiggles. My friend, who purchased the pieces,  said it made her think of a medicine shield, thus the name Indian Summer.
