This was 6 of series called "Cassidy"; the image makes reference to the myth of the Phoenix, and also refers to the past and future of the western spirit. Painted with gold, bronze, and copper metallic acrylics. Painted 2000-2001, the main image (in black) was silk-screened and the then painted by hand so that each painting is an original, not a reproduction
