Our surroundings may be crumbling around us, dilapidated and painful,
but nothng can stop that light of hope inside us, unless we choose to extinguish it.
Inspired by my own childhood, I never lost hope that somehow things would get better. This
outlook was a Godsend for the things I had to face as an adult.
