Chagall's Cello Scarecrow

Collage Art Gallery

Art: Chagall's Cello Scarecrow by Artist Tina Marie Ferguson
The piece was constructed from painted canvas attached to pieces cut from sheets of insulation board. All the parts were attached to one solid sheet base. There are also areas of burlap, felt, string, and heavy yarn. In addition to acrylic paint, we also used lots of glitter glue. The hands, hat, collar and some cello parts are stuffy pieces. This was a collaborative school wide art project for our local fall festival's scarecrow contest. Since our school drafted me to create their yearly scarecrow, I chose to tie it to a famous artist. This one is based on THE CELLIST by Marc Chagall. We were recognized this year as "most artistic" scarecrow.
