"Party on the outside, pain within". To me, many times what appears to be happy, is not really. This is an exciting piece - there is a lot going on here visually as well as emotionally. The majority of the first layer is hand rubbed oil. There are many layers, dripped, splattered and scratched in. I applied a real thick layers of varnish in areas that created a nice textured effect. I find this piece, although emotionally raw - visually it keeps your eye going. You will find paint on the back side of my artwork, because I handle the canvas - I work it. Many times you will find that the white areas of the canvas are the actual canvas showing through - but it is varnished. I only use the highest quality of materials with my artwork. This piece is painted around the sides, so there is no need to frame if you do not want to. This piece will compliment any environment. I create work that is visually stimulating.
