This drawing represents a long held wish to work in silver point, something I've wanted to do since I was a teenager reading about Renaissance artists such as Albrecht Durer. Nowadays, there are kits which can be bought online with all of the supplies needed, and that's just what I did. I was nervous about trying a new medium, but it turned out to be a really fun experience and the lynx fur was just perfect for doing in the silver grey lines. With this medium, the silver gradually darkens over time, so the subject has to be one which fits the changing colors, so I'm looking forward to finding another animal subject which will fit the bill.
