During Spring and Summer isnt it fun to be outside working in the yard, playing with your kids or just relaxing? Ever have one of those moments when you look down and see such a wonderful suprise as a new spring frog enjoying the weather along with you? Now you can have him always on this beautiful one of a kind art brooch by Deborah Sprague. I have captured this little fellow for eternity in clay! No not the real guy, just his image!... He is formed using ceramic clay bisque fired in a kiln, cooled and hand glazed using special glazes I make here in the studio. He is then refired and pulled RED HOT from the kiln using specialty tongs and welders gloves, placed in a pit of Oregon pine needles to "smoke" this is the raku process of firing and what causes the unique color effects.
