This painting was created based upon one of my photographs of the northern woods taken in late autumn. I was trying to capture the mood of isolation and beauty that I felt that day. I also captured the depth of the forest and the landscape beyond.. Doesn't that make you want to go exploring? It does me....
My painting technique uses multiple glazes of transparent color, giving the painting depth and translucence. The painting has been finished with a protective coating.
