Avatar Help - 11/9/2006 7:12:56 PM
Guest
I'm reposting this here:

O.K., I've been here for at least half an hour trying to upload an avatar.  Nothing works.  I've even made the most miniscule possible avatar and even at 2 x 2 pixels it wouldn't upload - file was TOO LARGE!!!  At 1 resolution is when it finally accepted.  I went into photoshop and duplicated an image.  I took it to 145 x 145 pixels, 72 resolution. The image measured 2 x 2".  I went into Save For Web and it was only something like 5.85k.  Even one that was less than 1K would not upload.

I know others have had this problem and I have too from reading the threads posted in the past.  Is there a sure way to get an avatar to upload?  Like a step by step guide?  I'm too frustrated to try anymore so I'll just use a little miniature avatar for now...

I also tried going to Save For Web and lessening the quality so that it was at 10%, which brought it down to something like 1K.  Still said the file was too large.

This is not the first time it happened.  I've always had trouble with this and wondered if it has something to do with Photoshop.

See what I'm stuck with for an avatar?

please email me the original image you tried to upload and I'll take a look to see why it wasn't working.
