Thanks, John, for looking so well, and linking your own experience and poetic fancy with mine! You are great. My watercolors are the most abstract, introspective and in a way, the most "odd" thing I do. (Not to say that the other things are not odd!) The watercolors have tended to be minatures, and in fact it is their title as a unit "inner windows" that I chose for my user name! The SF one you are right is not literal... and it is a bit of a mystery to even me! But...I feel it as if the vertical lines "feel" like the city, and the "enso" the wholeness, or pleasure that comes from its character... I have done hundreds of these tiny paintings, I should start to add them...they are all really different, but have that "inner window" quality to them. I like your cloud, fire feelings...I certainly have that feeling too...In fact...another idea...I should photograph and put up journal drawings of clouds I've done on international trips...it looks like "oh, of couse that creature was just floating by"...there is no dreaminess about it. (line drawings, sometimes painted, you'd never know they were clouds) Oh and I have to do something with this: When I was little I would NOT eat a piece of popcorn until I identified what it was! It took a long time to eat a small bag! More later, I want to look at your work.
