If you signed up for an annual subscription via PayPal (which I'm pretty sure you did) it will be deducted automatically by PayPal on the anniversary of your membership. That's how it works for monthly and Bi-Annuals, too. Unfortunately, PayPal sends no prior notice, just a notice after the payment has been made.

Don't do it, yet, though, because I believe you have an annual membership and time left. I would have written back yesterday, but the monitor on my laptop died (currently using a borrowed computer without email access)

No, nor necessarily, although it is often the case (for folks whose subscriptions are cancelled because their billing didn't go through for one reason or another). You could conceivably cancel a bi-annual subscription on the day you join and still have two years of service left with us.

But we did check yours and you were overdue by about a week, so you're all taken care of with the next subscription that you put through this morning.

We don't have member access for PayPal renewal dates available on our site, but you can always look it up on PayPal.

I checked our PayPal records and your membership expired back in February. I will have to check our email logs to see if and when we contacted you about the need to renew your subscription, which, according to PayPal, was cancelled by you back in 2005. That’s when an automated notice would have gone out to let you know that you needed to make further payment arrangements. I noticed that the email address we have on file for you isn’t the same as the one with which you contacted us. Perhaps that is part of the problem?

And I do see that your art is intact, so when you do officially “rejoin” it will simply be a matter of turning your portfolio back “on.”
