After much grief, I managed to upload a piece of art. I know it's my fault for not trying it out before I needed it, but the last 3 months have been a blur.

I sold a print on Etsy and need to produce a COA to ship it. I filled everything in, and am stuck at Create/ Manaage (sic) COAs. I went and looked at the FAQ and it says, if Preview COA is grayed out (which it is), click on your media row. What's a media row? I have clicked on everything in the dialog, and it remains grayed out. In Edition Type, I have entered Open, but the Attention! icon won't go away. Is that my problem?

Also, and less urgently, I have an unwanted art case upload (it told me it didn't go through, but apparently it did) and I see no way of just deleting it.

I am on a Mac G4 running OS10.5, and Firefox 3.6. Thanks for any help you can offer.

The fact that the attention icon hasn't gone away means it's waiting for you to fill in some field or other. Are there any fields in your COA that are blank?

Right now, deletes aren't available, but you can always mark the item "hidden."

Thank you for jumping on this, Amie.
I looked again and just realized that the box with the Attention! icon is separate from the Edition drop down box. I thought it was just one long box. When I click on it, it says, "This is the text that will appear as the edition for a COA if applicable...". Well, it's not applicable, as I chose Open Edition. It looks as if I need to put something in there anyway. What should I write that's not going to confuse the recipient?

While it *shouldn't* be working like that (and I was just able to duplicate what you described, so it's not just you) one thought would be to put either "signed" or "unsigned" in that slot.

And as for the media square, it's the space that says dimensions/media. If everything is still greyed but all of the fields look to be filled, click on that last field and the problem will be corrected.

OK, got it. I first typed Open Edition in the blank field, but then the COA said "Open Open Edition". So I went back (by clicking Cancel) and entered "Edition" in the field. Yay! Thanks for your help.

Ah, OK. Maybe another way to describe it would be to click outside of whichever field you filled in last. After I typed in the empty box, the cursor sat after the last letter and "Preview COA" was still grayed out. I then clicked outside that field, the cursor went away and "Preview COA" came alive!

Now another thing. The COA doesn't print right.
The printed COA has a 2" margin at left and 1" at top, cutting off the stuff at right and bottom.
I have my Page Setup and orientation set correctly, and have never had an issue printing from Firefox.

Just letting you know. Obviously this is not something you can fix instantly, and I'll find another way to print for now.

Update: I checked a box in the print box that I had never seen before: "Ignore scaling and shrink to fit page width". That gave me a COA that fits on the page just fine, but is in 6pt type.

Not sure what to tell you about the font size. That's not something we can easily fix, and it seems to scale differently in every browser/OS. It's something we'll continue to tweak, but that won't happen in time for this particular certificate.

That's just it: it's not really a font size issue. The issue is that if I go to print normally, at 100%, like any other browser page, and like I used to for COAs (I never had an issue with the old site), I get a printout that is the correct type and image size, but is offset by 2" and runs off the page. If I check "Ignore scaling and shrink to fit page width" in the print dialog box, I get a tiny image of the COA. I ended up using Grab for a screen shot and taking the resulting tiff to Photoshop. It worked, but is a bit of a pain.

It really looks like there's something awry in the COA generating code, perhaps a wide white border. Or the default page is set as something larger than letter size. Something. I wonder if anyone else has an issue with this?

It must be just me, or maybe I'm the only person who actually uses COAS (none of mine have ever been validated, except by Kris, bless her heart) but it's still doing what I mentioned above.

The old site worked fine, so it's not my browser. I think it's a page size issue on your end, and it would be nice if that was fixed at some point.

I found a certificate template on IWork and am going to start making my own. I have sent the COA's from here with my art , and they never get locked and I don't like seeing the page info it shows top and bottom. (like when it's printed/webpage etc.. not sure if you can adjust that or not?). so I think I'll just make my own now or none at all. Do you cut off the page info on yours?

Yes, i usually trim them around the dotted line.
I missed the post office for today anyway, I'm redoing my package so it doesn't cost me $32 to send to England. My fault, I didn't research the costs before putting prices on Etsy. I guess I haven't shipped anything to England for along time...

I stopped printing COA's also, but it was because they are bigger than the boxes that I use! I just email mine to the customer instead. One thing I would love is to have somewhere to record customer info for each of the pieces so I can keep track of who bought what and when and for how much. I don't know if this is possible, but if someone asked me for their COA info again, I would be at a loss to figure out which one they actually bought!
