Twas a typo in our database. It thought voting should have ended 1-8-2010. Thanks for the heads up!

Holy cow! I'm glad this thread got started because then I realized I was completely missing all the shows now that they are not posted on the front page. I did find them though and will vote now. That's my one suggestion, it would be nice to scroll down and see them on the front page.
(but I really really liked that now we can see the winning entries all on the same page)

I just went to vote, and I found this new format very difficult to navigate. I would like to see some separation between shows that are accepting entries, shows that are eligible to vote on, and recently ended shows. I had to scroll down through all of the new ones, since all of the banners said "coming soon" it wasn't clear what was what. I found the first one to vote on (also with a "coming soon" banner) & then when I went back to look at the other votable contests, I had to scroll through everything again. this was really a pain when forced to do it several times. At one point I scrolled too far & ended up in November shows & had to scroll back up (but not too far!). I'm not convinced I didn't miss a show or two but I got frustrated & stopped looking. I don't know about other people but I can't stand having to repeatedly look through the same list just to find where I was (especially when the banners are all the same). Also my guess is that people not familiar with the process might not know to keep scrolling down since it's not that obvious which can be voted on & which are open, and which are closed. I fear the shows are going to lose viewers & voters with this format.

Also I think some sort of banner to the new and/or votable shows on the home page would be helpful, I had gone there a few times prior to tonight & got distracted, forgetting all about the shows.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong but if I'm having trouble finding this stuff (especially when I know it's there), I'm not alone.

I too miss seeing some reference to the shows on the front page. It might be just me, but it's easy to forget about them and the voting when I don't have the visual reminder.

Yes, I agree it would be nice to see some mention of the EBSQ shows on the front page. The shows are a large part of EBSQ and seem like they should be showcased on the front page!

I liked the shows on the front page too, BUT....

The old front page was too big.  There was so much highlighted on it that it lacked focus.  I'm not sure where the balance lies.

That's something we agree with and we're still working to find that balance.

It's not just you, I would have forgotten completely about it if not for this discussion.

Not only does there need to be more of a reference to the shows on the front page, but navigating through them needs to be easier. I never had this problem with the old format.

If you're concerned about too much going on on the front page, how about making the various banners smaller? I never thought the old front page was too busy.

One of the things we're considering is the introductions of personal dashboards that includes things like reminders to vote, what shows are open, and other important news. This doesn't solve the issue for the casual viewer, so we're still looking at general design tweaks.

Thanks for the feedback, and sorry for your current frustrations!
