Olga, your question keeps getting buried in the general relaunch bugs thread, so this one is just for you.

You said that Chrome and Firefox keep "timing out" for you, yeah? Since you're on dial up, are you sure those browsers are properly installed?

Also, Bill believes based upon the error you've described that the AOL/IE shell browser you've been using is based upon IE6 or earlier. Is there any chance you can upgrade to a newer version of IE and see if that solves your problem?

I thought Lisa wasn't having that problem, but complaining that she has to click "save" after every text field. (Lisa, if I'm wrong, PLEASE let me know!)

No it goes back to the jpg every time I hit save (after each detail) and then I have to reopen the detail box, I can live with it, but I'm sure if I were on dial up it would really suck.

It isn't supposed to do that, and doesn't do that for me on IE7, or any other browser I've personally tried.

Anyone else with ANY version of IE, or with a different browser all together, that this is happening to?

I believe I have IE 8. I will check if this bug occurs for me.

**Update**

It does indeed throw you back to the image; whether it's a new image or one you are editing from your portfolio.

When I click on Save or Cancel when updating the Media/Dimensions/Date, etc. the entire window disappears. When I say Window I mean the small pop-up where you edit the Details, COAs, etc.

Actually, yes Amie. I was going to say something, but I was afraid you would think I am a complainer, so I didn't. My laptop came with IE 7 which I find to be very smooth. Uploading art hasn't been here. But I am new so thought it was something I have to deal with. Also, it took several tries for my Milford Mill "Funnel" piece to be made public. Another one that was made public the same time from the mill didn't end up on the home page. I did them together so there would be coherency to the appearance of the homepage.

That thnigs take several steps is why I have been procrastinating on building my portfolio. I would just feel tired from it.

Thanks for understanding.

Diana,

Is your editing page also closing every time you hit save on a text field in IE7?

I guess the larger question in general is why this isn't happening for ME in IE7 but all of you, since I'm using the site the same as everyone else would.

Lisa, are you using an IE shell (like AOL or MSN) as your browser? Since I can't replicate the problem, it's a little hard to diagnose so I can sic Bill on the bug, because it definitely IS a bug.

Yes Amie, the editing page closes every time. Also one time I thought it would be good to not save each time and just go to the next item, you know, media, then size, etc, but when I went back to save the first one for media it closed. I couldn't "outsmart" it.

There may be two or more versions of IE7. An upgraded version, maybe? I got my laptop in October or late September. It's an HD.

OK, see what is above my typing here? A quote form you. I didn't click on quote. It has happened three times just now. I clicked on reply on my post but first reply on your post two times ago.

Amother thing that happened several minutes ago was I went to the homepage after clicking the ebsq banner from another page. I forget which. It took me not to the ome page but the page for AOTD which by the way is gorgeous.

Other things have happened. I would keep on thinking I made a mistake.

Amie, I'm thinking it must be something with IE 8 - that is what I have and also what Lisa has and we are both having the same bug.

Olga's AOL/IE could be something else entirely? More an AOL thing causing the same result?

Just thoughts...

I believe Bill has IE 8 (which he only uses for testing since he hates IE with an unholy passion, and not just because it's a programmers' worst nightmare)
so I'll have him do some additional testing to see if he can replicate your bug.

UPDATE: yes, Bill was able to replicate the bug with IE8 and he's working on it now.

I rarely use IE 8 - I hate it with a passion. Firefox is not much better these days, it's slowly becoming as bloated at IE. Chrome is quite nice though except I'm not crazy about how it has certain thing organized.

You just can't win. LOL

Hope Bill has some success with the bug!

No worries, we were able to replicate the bug.

And Lisa, this is a change you might actually like
