yes, I guess I am . I uploaded all my images for the 2 pieces. I have edited the two main pieces.  I like how it works finally.

I believe the only step you're missing is "gallery placement." You need to select a personal gallery for your work to show up in your publicly viewable portfolio.

Glad we're getting there. I know this is a learning curve, but I believe it should become quickly intuitive, and the things that just don't make sense we'll tinker with to make more intuitive.

I read through what everyone had to say...I don't think I missed the answer, but not completely sure. Are we able to add detail pics and a statement yet? I don't want to enter my show entries without being able to do that.

Thanks,
Sherry

Yes, to detail pictures. Not yet to artist statements. But if you want to enter a piece now, go ahead and then just add your artist statement as soon as we have it completely saving properly. Melissa won't start "blackhatting" until next week.

Hmm...in Chrome I was able to upload main picture but not detail pics. Got out of Chrome and into IE and was able to add detail pics.

Hmmm, that's strange, especially since my assumption was that it's typically the other way around (working in chrome, but not IE).

Is it giving you an actual error? Or simply just not working?

I just tied uploading some new pieces. I'm using Firefox with Linux's Ubuntu -- and each time I tried to upload entries I got the little automated message blurb that because of the Flash/Linux thingie the browser would probably freeze up. Which..., it did. ;-) So, any suggestions....?

In Chrome on detail pics it said uploading, then it said upload failed, I tried all three detail pic areas. In IE it said upload was successful.

I don't suppose changing from Ubuntu would be a popular suggestion, lol.

I'm not sure yet how to solve your problem. We didn't do extensive testing with the Linux OS since so few of our site visitors are using it. I'll get it added to the list of issues. Sorry, Patience!

Ha! Indeed, my spouse, our home network's SA and resident geek, is a big fan of open source software -- so yeah, kind of stuck with it I'm afraid...! In any case thanks for the reply, Amie--

totally respect that view

And no worries, we WILL be taking a look at why it's freezing up for you with your FF/Ubuntu combo. I'll drop you a line when we think we have a fix.

Amie I'm not sure if you saw this issue since there was a lot of other posting going on at the same time:

I just tried again & was able to get it to go into the EBSQ galleries but not my own ACEO gallery. Is it possible that it's because there's an apostrophe in ACEO's? Maybe the system doesn't like that? I'm going to try renaming that gallery to see what happens.

update - I tried renaming the gallery but nothing happened, no "enter", no indication that anything was wrong.

I went to look at my ACEO's gallery & got this message:

quote:

Category: Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server
Number: (0x80040E14)
Descripton: Incorrect syntax near 's'.

Which to me looks as if the problem is with the apostrophe, but now I can't rename it! I also could have sworn I had more than four pieces in ACEO's but maybe I just never uploaded anything else.

It seems to be working! I left the browser window open for a few hours upon leaving the house -- came home and three out of the four had apparently uploaded.... Now I've been experimenting with the editing of them -- it's different, but I think I'm catching on....

We logged it. There seems to be a lot of punctuation issues with personal gallery names and the new page url nomenclature. We'll probably be able to tackle that tomorrow. Sorry I forgot to say something!

Hopefully we'll be able to get it so that you're not waiting a few hours between uploads, lol!

There's no question it IS different. The new version of our tools is meant to address a lot of the common complaints and user confusion issues that plagued the old system.

Thanks, Amie. And yes, learning curve -- but it's coming along! I do have a question though, and please forgive me if this has already been addressed....I may be missing something here, but is there a means to order the art in the within the portfolio? (I do tend to be OCD about the arrangement of my portfolio items, lol ;-)....

There WILL be a way to do it, but it's not ready yet. We wanted to make sure the uploads were working correctly before we added in another moving part. Once it's ready, it will be available under the "My Galleries" tab. In the interim, the default order in your portfolio is from newest to oldest for all of the new pieces added since the change.
