Under the gallery placement tab, when I hit save changes a small gray box comes up int the corner and says....gallery placement update error IE8, on both my home computer and work computer.
"Eating Snow" and "Float", could be operator error as well, I'm just not sure what I'm doing wrong.

What gallery are you trying to place them in? That could be part of the problem.

the picture does load faster but putting the details in is taking me forever because i have to click save after every single entry and then it automatically takes me back to the picture where i have to click the edit button again...every time...is this how it's alway going to be?

This is not really slow for me but hitting save after every detail is a PIA.

I'm getting a "gallery placement" error on my latest uploads. I've been able to add them to shows but they are not showing up in my portfolio.

Olga, it shouldn't be doing that. What browser, etc?

IE8...and i'm on aol dial up

Actually, it was "Lisa's Gallery" and it was the apostrophe that was causing the failure. I'm in the process of renaming your gallery (the change isn't taking, so I'm talking to Bill about that) which should permanently solve your problem.

am i really the only one this is happening to?

is there some reason we can't just fill it all out and hit save once?

That's actually how it's supposed to work. I'm looking into why it's not functioning that way for you now. Normally you can change from tab to tab while editing and then you click the x in the corner once everything is done.

Olga, it's not just you, I also have to save each portion of the description before continuing.  But I'm not on dial up so it is annoying, but not as frustrating for me as it is for you.

Olga, perhaps I am not following what your problem is. From what I gathered, when you click edit, type something, and save, it closes your big editing window and you have to click "edit" again to get to other parts of the editing window. Is this actually what is happening?

Yes that's what happens Amie. Just one save button would be wonderful. I'm not on dial up so it's not time consuming just annoying.  Also I'm wondering if the title shouldn't be in the detail box. Make it a bit more obvious.  I see alot of jpgs in the titles on the front page.

Just one save button would be confusing to a lot of people. Which page gets it? What if you forget and then lose all of your work?

As to people forgetting to title their art, yeah, we're working on some tweaks to keep that from happening.

I mean one save button on the details page. For example when you type in the media and hit save it goes back to the jpg., reopen the detail page, then type size hit save and go back to the jpg, reopen the detail page..each time you hit save it closes the detail page. If that one page just had a save button instead of every single detail. Maybe it's just me that finds this annoying?

It doesn't close for me - I'm on Firefox - but I do find it tedious to hit save after each little detail (Media, Dimensions, Date of Work, Keyword Blurb, Statement). That's 5 save buttons just for the Details Window.

If it closed after I hit each of those save buttons I'd lose my mind. LOL

Ok, so what I thought was happening IS happening, but just on the details page and just for some. Sorry this problem has me a bit fuddled.

It doesn't close the editing box in Chrome, either, which is part of why I was so confused. I typically use Firefox and Chrome only.

Is everyone having the problem on IE by any chance?

That actually doesn't make any sense; I've looked at multiple reports and IE finishes last for speed/bandwidth/cpu hog issues in every study. Of course, they probably weren't looking at dial up in any of the studies, but it's just kind of weird. Although I typically prefer Firefox, Chrome actually seems to be the fastest browser of the current competitors.

/tangent

Now that I know for sure we're on the same page with your problem, we hopefully have a bug squash for you soon, because as I stated previously, what you're describing should NOT be happening.
