"Autosharpening" of Images - 1/26/2010 10:26:57 AM
In researching the forums I read some posts dated back in 2006 about their images looking like an autosharpening tool was applied to them. The threads I read on this issue all seemed to end with someone looking into it without any resolution to the problem. As in a post by DancingDoeStudios, I use the same jpg images for several different web sites and they display perfectly; however on EBSQ they are very grainy. All my images are managed in photoshop, with the last task being to 'save to web' as a .jpg file.

question 1: is autoshapening occurring
question 2: if so, how do I turn it off
question 3: if not, what is causing the grainy-ness

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

We do not sharpen original images (we are going to test this and see if we should be). We do sharpen thumbnails when the reduction in size is more than 10%. To keep your original images unmodified, resize your images to a max width/height of 800 pixels (width <= 800, height <=800) - in this case, we do not resize the sent image.
