One question we're asked a lot by newbies (and a quite a few veterans too!) is if we have videos for how to do specific tasks on the site. Most of those requests have been very general. What we're wondering is if there some very specific videos you'd like to see us do.

What would have been most helpful to you when YOU first started at EBSQ?

wow....a step by step on how to use the forums, chat room...and how to add to art portolios, etc...actually anything that has to do with using a computer lol

and it needs to be more specific than that. "how to use the forums" is actually too general. all of the videos will be 2 minutes or less in duration. the more concise, the better.

ok...thinking back to how lost I felt(it was great to have Robin as a mentor, and boy did I use her!)umm....I think a step by step....like this is how you use our forums....click on forums...(forums open up)scroll down til you see last post I looked (or however it's worded)click on that and see all the choices...then pick one, click...read a post...click to reply and show how to host a pic here or on photobucket or flickr then how to get it here to post....things like..if there is long thread, how to click on the last arrow to go straight to the last page...stuff like that...

like showing a gifted kindergartener how to use it...lol

What a great idea. I think it would be nice to have one on how to use the template for ebay, or posting a picture to the forum. I know that one seems to cause a lot of consternation.

I think it would be helpful about how to get into the inner forum section. I remember having a lot of trouble with that as did my daughter and her friend zoe

To clarify, you mean, knowing that you have to log in to see the private forums? Or do you mean something else?

From the point that someone joins if there was a video or how to that made it very clear you had make a separate password to enter the inner section and perhaps what forum topics are inside the inner section (private forum area) and how to navigate the forum section once they have made it in. I can't remember all the troubles I had but I had the worst time and I kind of panicked about it so it did not feel like a good start for me.

I did not know there was a section that was "today's posts" until about a year after I joined for example. When I joined it felt like a giant maze and I did not even know how to access help.

I agree with Hiede,when i first joined,i gave up and just used the templates and i had a very hard time at that,i had no mentor,i don't remember any one contacting me,if they did,i must not have understood.
It took me about a year to get up the nerve to try again.
Step by Step on the main how to's.
