Hello, Tai! It's good to see you here! Jumping in on the forums to say hello is always a good second step [:D]

Taking a quick look, I'd suggest adding artist statements about each of your newly uploaded pieces. Text helps your work get found. Plus once it's found, it helps people understand more about your work. "Archaeology" for example--what are the two figures examining? What drew you to this subject matter?

Guest -> RE: New to EBSQ? Hello (8/2/2011 5:23:22 PM)

Hi Gillie!

Thank you for your reply. I will add text to my work... I am brand new to
art in this form - drawing, painting, so I dont have much perspective as to
how to talk about it.. yet :)

Thanks again!

Tai

Talking about one's art isn't always easy, even for experienced artists. These articles might help give you a starting place:

Thanks again Gillie! Very helpful.

Any tips on creating a counter without signing up to google etc... the ebsq Create Links/Counters page is very confusing. ?

gillie -> RE: New to EBSQ? Hello (8/2/2011 7:02:58 PM)

We don't really recommend creating a counter for every image since it's a bit labour-intensive, but it's certainly an option.

To do so:

Click "Create Links and Counters"
Click "No, Don't link"
Click "Yes, Use this image as a counter" and give a unique name for each image you're doing this for.
Grab the code for the invisible 1 x 1 pixel counter at the very bottom of the list.

Then edit the item to which you want to add a counter.
Click "Artist Statement"
Click "html"
Paste the code you copied from the links and counters page
click the html button again to return to rich text mode
click a white area outside of the text box to save your text.

Repeat the above process (with a new name for each counter) for all of the items to which you wish to ass a counter.

Here's why adding Google Analytics might serve you better:

Less steps (!)

Unlike our hit counters that just tell you how many, Google's analytics tell you how the hit came to your page, how long they spent on your page, what keywords they used to find you, etc. It's a much better gauge of your success and helps you see fact-based evidence of what's working for you and what isn't.

Guest -> RE: New to EBSQ? Hello (8/3/2011 6:10:51 PM)

Thank you Gillie!!!

OK I have done that to all of my work - now code is showing up under viewing page - dont see any counters in my "View counters" button, or on display page of individual work (only code)...

Because of this I have also signed up to google now, but that too is a bit confusing.. still working on it - I would however like to get the esbq one working

- any other suggestions as to getting esbq one working would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Again !

Tai

Tai,

Which piece did you add the counter to? I'd be happy to take a look.

D'oh, misread your post and just realized you said you added it to all of your pieces. I'll find one and figure out whassup, lol.
