I am new to ESBQ, great site. Now, I have created templates but cannot paste to ebay -they appear with all html included. Idiots quide would be much appreciated by this idiot.

Good morning, Steve, and welcome to the EBSQ forums!

To answer your question, you have to specifically select the "html" tab first when you're inputting your description (the default is "standard"). Otherwise, your code looks like, well, code. And believe me, you're not an idiot. This has been THE number one question template-users have been asking ever since eBay made this change in their listing tools. I understand why they did it, but it's not exactly intuitive the first few times you do it, lol.
