I'm relatively new here- i.e. I haven't loaded much stuff or figured much out, but on other sites, your work can be loaded onto different pages, so as to create different catagories, like Painting, Drawing, Sculpture, etc. Can that be done here? How? Thanks.

Hi,

Welcome!

I see you have a patron account - if you want to have your own portfolio etc. you'll need to upgrade your account to a paid "artist account". Here's some info explaining the differences between the two:

quote:

Becoming an EBSQ Patron will let you do more than a casual site visitor. Currently this will allow you to:

* Cast your vote for 'Patron's Choice' awards in our monthly art shows
* Maintain your digital Certificates of Authenticity (COAs) for the EBSQ art in your personal collection
* Save your favourite art and artists to your own personal "gallery"
* Send digital e-cards of your favorite works
* Read and post messages in our forums (although patron access is limited)
* Attend EBSQ chats, including our free monthly educational program, EBSQ Live
* Receive our daily 'Art of the Day' in email (optional, of course!)

Additional functionality for paid Artists includes:

* Your own online porfolio
* A unique url directly to you and your art on our site
* Links to where you sell online
* Unique promotion including eye candy such as Art of the Day and our very addictive Art Concentration game
* Our fabulous online community, with special sections that are members-only access
* Exhibitions and special projects
* ... and much more!

Mat--good to see you on the forums!

Also, based on Vicky's comment, I see your member upgrade for your forum account didn't save properly. Sorry about that! Let me get that taken care of first and then, I'll get back to your original question.

Ok, your status is showing properly now. Sorry about that! Sometimes, upgrades don't save properly, and we have no way to catch it unless somebody notices and calls it to our attention

Yes, you can divide your pieces into something we call "personal galleries"

To do so, upload a new piece or edit an existing one. Down at the bottom of your editing page, where you normally select "gallery" to make your item public, you also have the option to create a new personal gallery. Let's say you want to create a sculpture gallery and name it Sculpture. Type it in and hit save at the bottom of your page as you normally would. You'll now find Sculpture is in that pull-down menu for your personal gallery options.

Let us know if you'd like further assistance with this topic!

Best regards,
-Amie

Hello Caite and Mat,

The personal galleries show 25 items per page, and as far as I know, there is no way to reduce that number.

When you select the gallery you wish to see from the scroll down menu, you must then hit the search bottom on the far right of the page. I wish it automatically updated to, or allowed you to set a main gallery besides “All”, maybe in the future they will change that.

When you are uploading a new item in “art case”, right below where you choose your personal gallery that you want the item to appear in, it says “order in gallery”. This will set the order of appearance of an item. It is normally set to 0 until you change it, and if everything is set at the same order, then it all gets mixed up. I generally save 0 for items I want to “showcase” and have on top, then have different #’s assigned for different types of work. When I’m showing off my beadwork, I set it to 1, if I want to focus on photography, then I set that to 1 and the beadwork stuff to 2 or 3. Unfortunately, you have to change the setting in the details of every item, not just the gallery, but it gives you some control over how your page looks.

Hope you enjoy EBSQ and welcome!

Joseph

When I try to access the pulldown menus for different galleries nothing happens. Also, it seems I have no control over the order of appearance, but I am assuming that has something to do with the different galleries I have created.

Hi,

After you choose the gallery you want to look at, you need to click on "search". Also I'm pretty sure that when you edit an item you can specify the order you'd like it to be in the gallery (I don't think I've used that feature though so am not 100% certain). I think that within the galleries the work is alphabetical but again I haven't paid much attention to that so am not sure.

Oh I was wrong, looks like the most recently added work shows up first unless you specify otherwise.

Each piece has to be numbered in your art case. When numbering make sure you leave plenty of room for new pieces.

ETA:  LOL...I see Joe already answer that question

Caite and Matt:

You will probably find some good insights in Kris Jean's how-to article on this very subject in this month's EBSQ zine:
