Not receiving Art of the Day - 4/6/2011 8:25:54 AM

Hello:

For the past two or three days I have not received Art of the Day. Checked my profile--email is correct and Art of the Day is checked to receive. Is this happening to anyone else? Can it be fixed?

At what email address do you receive AOTD? We're having issues with a certain provider for about 30 customers declaring we're spam and not allowing AOTD through.

My provider is Comcast, and my preferred email address is wendyg_tabularasa@comcast.net.

Hmmm, no known issues with Comcast, nor a bounce for your email address. Did you check your spam/bulk filter?

Yes, that does not seem to be it. Maybe I should "un-sign" up and then retry in a day or so?

It still could be something unknown with comcast, they tend to have pretty strong filters.

Un-signing up wouldn't really make a difference. You're properly signed up and the messages are indeed going out.

Anyone else here a comcast customer not receiving AOTD recently?

I've added the email address for Art of the Day to my address book.
Comcast blocks a lot of spam from coming through altogether, so maybe this will help.

It's back! I finally received Art of the Day today. I added the AOTD email address to my address book on the Comcast.net site in addition to the email client I have installed on my machine. Typically I just use Thunderbird and the emails transfer in from Comcast no problem. Hopefully this will do the trick.

I spoke or rather posted a little soon. I am receiving it, but only sporadically. I see that my work is featured in Art of the Day today! Unfortunately I did not receive the email this morning. Is there any way you could forward the AOTD email to me from an alternate ebsq address?

Wendy, I'm glad you spoke up. When I went to go forward it to you, I saw that it never actually went out as scheduled last night. So it's going out to everyone as we speak. Please let me know if you don't receive it.

Comcast seems to be blocking them some days but not others. We're not getting bounces, so we can't even properly diagnose what's going on, and the one person I spoke with there is utterly clueless. We're continuing to work on the problem!

From what I can tell, it's a combination of issues. One being that some email providers think our AOTD content is spam because they include links to eBay in some cases. The other being that someone else sharing our mail server is an actual spammer, so we've been fighting a mail IP blacklist and imploring our service provider to move our mail to a different server.

What's making me particularly frustrated is that Comcast isn't sending our bounces, and without them, the low-level peeps I've been dealing with are clueless about what's actually going on and how to fix it since other messages from us are getting through to Comcast customers.

Very interesting.

AOTD is the only ebsq email that I am not receiving--all the announcements are coming through. I tried to do a little exploring on this end by using comcast's live chat to see if I could find out anything, but the so called "analyst" was pretty clueless and I got no where. Hope we can get this resolved. Thanks!

Ditto here, still not getting AOTD, but am getting all the other e-mails. My hub showed me how to add it to my "safe sender's" list today so we'll see if tomorrow's AOTD makes it through. ('tis odd though, nothing else is getting blocked except AOTD). But no rushes, in the scheme of things 'tis not a biggy. I can easily come here to see the AOTD too.
