Lack of Posts... - 7/31/2006 7:28:34 PM

I'm relatively new here, but I've noticed a lack of any new posts on here lately... It could be all the heat that the rest of the States are getting now that we've cooled back down in California...

Thought that I'd try to get some discussions going.

I've been reading a lot lately about ACEO art and the buying and selling that is going on at Ebay. Can anyone enlighten me as to which printer or printers people are using for them? How about the stock that they use? I was an HP hard case until I got my first multi-tank Canon (now I have three). I currently am using the Canon i9900 for my digital prints. Anyone have tips, traps or caveats?

I think people use pretty much whatever they want for their ACEO's - many (if not most) are original artwork, not just prints. The only "rule" is the size, so the paper can be whatever works for you too. I know this doesn't really answer your question but I wasn't sure how much you knew about aceo's.

Thanks for the post... I guess that I was misunderstanding what they are. Hearing them referred to as "Trading Cards" brought to mind that these are prints rather than original pieces of artwork.

I have done prints, so you can do prints.  Make them a limited edition.  I parinted mine on "art Paper" a nice heavy weight watercolor like paper.  I sold quite a few, then the bottom dropped out for me and I have not been lucky for a while.  Doesn't mean you won't be popular...a new face and all may make all the difference!

There is also a section for art cards here on the forum, check that out!

Hi Carolyn!

Thank you for the information... Since I'm new to trying to self-promote my art, I'm looking into all avenues available. I'm, also, predominately a digital artist, tending towards photo-realism. I'm not sure that it would gain the popularity that other mediums do. I will take a look at teh section here to see what people are doing.

Thank you. I'm still not sure where my medium is going to be best received, so I'll take sales of any kind to start! ;-)

HI, from one digital artist to another!  OUr medium is well accepted here and there is a digital art section besides a marketing and art card section.  Just ask your questions.............the digital art section is always looking for some discussion, so you would be more than welcome there!!

Thank you for the information... I wasn't aware of an ACEO group on ebay as well... I was looking through the art to see what was selling and what wasn't when I found EBSQ. I will most likely become a member within a month if I can find a comfort level for selling my art.

As soon as I find my comfort level on here and become a paying member, I will be one of those voices. I love discussions on art styles, medium and vision. I'm mainly a landscape artist, but I enjoy creating art in many forms. So far I've liked what I've seen here.
