Advice on improving my profile and portfolio welcome. - 1/4/2008 8:25:12 PM

Hello all! I am gradually getting my profile and portfolio organized, but feel I am probably missing many things.

Any advice on how to proceed is welcome. Wish there was a step by step to follow. I'm still pretty new to all this cross linking, online marketing, etc. Sometimes my head spins with it all.

Hope to get to know many of you and be a solid contributor to the site.

Hi Ruth, it's very nice to see your face, always a good thing to put a face with a name. Your portfolio looks good. Take things one at a time you will do fine. It took me months to figure out how to post a picture so I think your doing GREAT

A big welcome to the boards, jump right in. BTW.....I love your signature line

it is a bit much to get a good hold of, isn't it? Your website button on the forums isn't working. Also, the art could use more explaination, but don't look at my work because alot of mine need more explainations, too. Hehehe, it's alot of work!!

I didn't take a look at your profile yet, Ruth, but I can tell by looking at the link to your website why it's not working on the forums; you need to include the http:// in front of your address or certain parts of our website will misinterpret it as a subdomain of ebsq and you'll get a broken page.

Welcome, Ruth!! I looked at your Profile and thought it was good. You have a nice artist's statement and several nice pieces. I find it truly exciting
to see another person here who does digital art and fractals!! Welcome and drop by the digital section maybe we can get something going!!

One thing I would suggest is that on your profile statement you use a piece that does not have such glare....maybe your fractal?? (It is lovely, by the way!!). Just
an observation!!

Thank you all so much! Bowled over by the large number of prompt and friendly replies.

Thank you everyone for the tips, leads and encouragement. Will follow up on those today! I am determined to conquer my fatigue and get this art out there. Someone is waiting for it! lol

By the way, how does one
a: include their picture in the emails as you all do
and
b: create a signature, I am just typing mine in right now

To put a picture to the left of your posts, (your "avatar"), click "my profile" at the top right of this page.

Scroll down to "my avatar" and check the "upload my picture" option.

You will get a browse box and you can load the picture from your computer into the system. I think it has to by 145x145 pixels and less than 8kb maybe? It helps if you get your picture all sized and ready first, then just choose it when that option comes up.

After you load the picture, scroll down and click "apply", then when the page refreshes, pick "OK".

To add a signature, go to the same "my profile" page, type in your signature, click apply and OK again.

Hope it works for you!

Thanks Dawn! Totally a gift of the genes, like your luscious auburn flecked locks! My youngest daughter has auburn hair as did my mom. Can you see my green with envy self? If you check out my facebook site you can see Victoria and her 'disgustingly gorgeous' hair. Really long and I style it in that new long layered style for her. She is studying graphics now and film making later.

At 51 I am starting to see the white hairs amongst the blonde, but it is easy to hide in fair hair. lol

Anyways, thank you all for your help, getting the hang of some of this stuff!
