Elis,

This show is only available for artists who were previously juried into EBSQ Juried Artists. If you don't have EJA status, the show won't show up for you in your tools.

Sorry for the hijack (kind of), Amie, but are you having another round of jurying in the fall? I noticed it was MIA this spring.

EJA will jury as soon as the tool is ready and goes through testing. Not ETA right now since it's a low priority at the moment.

I'm confused!

I know it's already done now but I don't think you should change show requirements at the last minute.

Most of the month it has been for juried members only, then it was 200.00 awarded, and now it's a 10.00 entry fee. Then I look at it today and it's for all EBSQ members, not just juried. Anymore changes before the end of the month on Monday...

We had a very barren show and hadn't even raised enough funds with the entry fees to pay the juror's stipend. It was either allow everyone in or cancel the show. Sorry you don't agree with the decision to err on the side of inclusion.

Also, we knew last year the prize for the show was $200, but we had to wait until the donor concretely re-confirmed before announcing the prize. As to the entry fee payment button not being included, that was entirely my bad. I thought it was there when the show opened, but apparently, I pasted the standard show entry code there by mistake. Juried shows here ALWAYS have a fee. As stated above, that's how we cover the cost of the juror.

I don't think Sherry was disagreeing with the terms, Amie, more the timing of the changes. I am working on a piece for the show and didn't even know anything had changed in the last few days. I am still hoping to finish in time.
I can see why you made the changes. Hopefully, more people will now participate.

We made the change BECAUSE of how late in the month it is. As stated, it was either include to cancel since frankly, it's embarrassing to hire a juror months in advance and potentially hand her only 5 entries. I do apologize for ruffling any feathers with the change.

Yes, that's all I was saying.

I can totally understand WHY it was done, especially after you explained it.

Well, if anything else I got the word out to a few more people cause the last this post said was you had to be a juried member, and there might have been others like me not entering cause they didn't know.

Sorry if I ruffled any feathers also. You were probably going to blog about it anyway.

Oh gosh, I've been working on something for it as well, and didn't realize there were all these updates -- glad to be in the know...

Ok so now I will be paying $20 thanks goodness I didn't enter 5! I understand the need to charge fees, but personally I did not know about the fee, nor that that is standard for juried shows. I will not be pulling either of my entries but it doesn't sit real well with me

Alma, it isn't $20 for 2. It's prorated. The more you enter, the less per piece you pay, so if you were to enter 5, it would only cost $25.

Right after I read this thread on Thursday, I went and looked, and the widget for paying the entry fee was there.
Today, I entered my art in the show and the widget is nowhere to be found! I have no problem with the fee, but would not want my entry to be rejected because I didn't pay. What do I do?

Also, it says the cash prize will go to the Members' Choice winner. But the juror picks the winner, right?

Member's Choice is a typo (which I requested be fixed, but was apparently overlooked) because the cash goes to Juror's Choice and the widget went away because a field in the database thinks the show is over (which it isn't) We're addressing that problem now, and we'll invoice you manually.

Wow...some great entries this month in the Alice Walker Show. I had about 4 or 5 favorites, glad I'm not the juror. I especially enjoyed the ones with the thoughtful statements, stories and quotes.

It's always fun to see all the different interpretations of the theme -- and the unique styles of all the individual artists really comes through in their work.... In any case I really enjoyed participating in this show -- looking forward to participating in the exhibits this month as well.....
