The inspiration for this painting was an archival photo from the 1890's. This old city has known great tradgedy, fires and floods, but it has prevailed. For those who love it and its mystery, it is more than a place. As a tourist who came under this city's spell, I find that the images of the French Quarter are always with me. The edges of this canvas are painted, if you wish to hang it unframed. My certificate of authenticity will be enclosed.
