Art: Cistern by Artist Deanne Flouton
Mediterranean towns are replete with history and I enjoy discovering nooks and crannies. This one is unique because of a structure known as an "aljibe".

It is a cistern for potable water and dates from hundreds of years ago. It could hold 340 tons of water within walls that are 7 hands thick. In 1990 a plaque was erected to commemorate its history.

The photo is untouched except for an adjustment to shadow/highlights.
