Key Marco Cat - this is a six inch wooden statue - half human, half cat - made by the Calusa Indians 600 years ago. It was found on Marco Island, Fl. 100 years ago during an archeological expedition. This artifact is owned by the Smithsonian Institute and has recently been displayed on Marco Island. It is enjoying renewed popularity and is sported on T-Shirts , Mugs, Cards, etc.
