This piece was inspired by the Gustav Klimt painting "The Kiss". This is a visual depiction from the fairy tale Sleeping Beauty where Sleeping Beauty is about to be awakened with a kiss delivered by her prince. Prince, Beauty, the bed and pillow were all rendered with prismacolor pencil on watercolor paper. The couple was carefully trimmed and adhered to black mulberry paper painted with acrylics, gold above and multicolored flora below. This in turn was adhered to a piece of card stock painted with a geometric design that borders the entire piece and is painted in metallic purple, black, gold and silver acrylic. Finally the entire piece is mounted to a piece of chip board. It is initialed on the front and signed by me on the back. All the pieces of this collage are original and rendered by my own hand.
